The Tokat Courses

Eight weeks.
One scholar.
The questions that last.

Live academic seminars — limited in enrollment, rigorous in scope, led by the world’s leading scholars in Islamic studies.

Direct access to the instructor. Real questions. Thinking that continues after the session ends.
8
Weeks
Each course runs eight consecutive weeks of live sessions with the instructor.
90
Minutes per session
Sixty minutes — teaching followed by open Q&A with the instructor.
Limited
Enrollment
Kept deliberately small so questions reach the instructor directly.
Lifetime
Recordings
Every session recorded. Enrolled students retain access permanently.

Teaching at Tokat

Scholars whose names belong
in the permanent record.

Each course is led by a scholar whose work is foundational. Their courses are an extension of their life’s intellectual labor.

How a Tokat course works

No shortcuts.

01
Register or apply for scholarship
Pay the full course fee or submit a scholarship application — reviewed individually within ten business days. Partial funding of 20–80% is awarded based on intellectual seriousness and financial need.
02
Attend the live sessions
Eight ninety-minute sessions with the instructor over eight consecutive weeks. Teaching followed by open Q&A. Limited enrollment ensures your question reaches the front of the room.
03
ACCESS TO recordings — and the certificate
Lifetime access to session recordings. Six qualifying courses plus a 5,000-word capstone paper earns a Tokat Certificate in your chosen track.
